hello. This is the Koye couple. How many years have you been using your current mobile phone number? I have been using it for over 10 years, and from the beginning until now, I have been receiving a lot of unnecessary and spam calls and messages.
Also, there were many times when I was inconvenienced because I was still receiving contact from the person I used to use. So I thought, “I have to change it,” but it was so annoying that I kept putting it off, but now I’ve been using it for this long. lol
Changing your cell phone number can be done easily without going to a dealer. This is because you can use the telecommunication company’s website.
Since I am currently using KT, I will introduce KT’s change my phone number service in more detail, and for SKT and LG U+, I will briefly introduce where the number change menu is located on the homepage.
KT number change service
Go to my.kt.com, log in, and expand the entire menu in the upper right corner.
Select the My > Change subscription information > Change number menu.
If you want to apply right away, just click the [Request for number change] button. Cell phone (mobile) calls are free, but home phone calls can be changed at a fee of 1,650 won (VAT included) per number. Monday to Saturday: Available from 10:00 to 20:00. (However, not available on public holidays and Sundays)
After verifying your identity with ARS authentication, you can use it through a simple process of selecting the desired number and changing the number.
If ARS authentication is not possible, you can use it through the customer center. Changes are restricted in some cases, such as lost or new leased phones, changes made twice within 3 months (including cancellations), non-payment of charges, or temporary suspension. Please note that this is possible.
After verifying your identity, you can directly designate the last 4 digits of your number. However, only the first 2 digits of the middle 4 digits can be searched. You can find and specify what you want among the results, but if you don’t find a number you like, you have to search again. (Limit the number of searches to 50 per day)
After completing the change, cancellation is possible only on the same day. Please note that even if the number you were using cannot be used again within 29 days, including the date of the change, you must make a careful decision.
SKT
In the case of SK Telecom (SKT), after logging in, you can enter the number change menu through my T > Change > Change number > Change mobile phone number. If you are not sure of the route, you can also use the search bar to change the number.
Unlike KT, where you had to complete identity verification to search for your desired number, SKT allows you to search for your desired number once, so you can use it with a little more peace of mind. After searching, you will need to verify your identity via SMS.
The last 4 digits can be specified directly; SKT does not provide search for specifying the middle 4 digits. Additionally, please note that SKT has a limit of 30 searches for your desired number per day.
LG U+
In the case of LG U+ (LGU+), after logging in, you can change your phone number through the My Information Management > View and Change Subscription Service > Change Subscription Information > Change Number menu.
The same as KT or SKT, an identity verification process is required, and various methods such as mobile phone / PASS / public certificate / i-PIN authentication are provided, so you can use the one that is convenient for you.
In the case of LG U+, you can search for your desired number using the middle 4 digits or the last 4 digits, giving you more freedom.
Notice
Although there are slight differences in the change method for each telecommunication company, you can change your number online only once a day and twice per 90 days, so please use it carefully.
We are also providing an additional service that notifies people who contacted you with your old number of your new number via text/voice and automatically connects them, so if you find it difficult to notify them individually, please use this service.
You do not need to visit a dealership to change your cell phone number, so please keep this in mind.
