What is iPIN MyPIN?
i-PIN refers to a personal identification number that can be used on the Internet, and is a personal information service that allows you to authenticate your identity without using your resident registration number. These days, there are many ways to authenticate one’s identity using electronic authentication methods rather than resident registration numbers, and i-PIN can be considered to have the same function.
My PIN is an identity verification method that can be used in everyday life and is issued as a 13-digit random number. Here, the number has nothing to do with personal information, and if it is leaked to others, it can be changed 5 times a year, and personal information can be protected by reissuing a new number.
The difference between i-PIN and My-PIN is where it is used and whether it is used online or offline. The i-PIN validity period is one year and must be extended once a year.
Issuance of i-PIN
i-PIN is an authentication method that replaces the resident registration number. It is an abbreviation for Internet Personal Authentication Number and can be issued to any citizen of the Republic of Korea. When writing letters or issuing certificates from other websites, it is used instead of your resident registration number to protect your personal information.
That’s why it’s a good idea to make one in advance and use it when needed. Let’s find out how to issue an i-PIN online without visiting.
How to issue i-PIN
Places where you can obtain an i-PIN online include NICE Evaluation Information, SCI Evaluation Information, and Korea Credit Bureau. Children under the age of 14 can also receive one with the consent of their legal representative.

Please note that i-PIN issuance, which was available at community centers, has been discontinued since January 22. If you do not have an identity verification method and need to issue an i-PIN in person, you can visit the Korea Credit Bureau, NICE Evaluation Information, and SCI Evaluation Information websites to issue an i-PIN.

My Pin
My PIN is an identity verification method that can be used offline rather than online, and a 13-digit number that has nothing to do with personal information is set randomly. Like the i-PIN, it replaces your resident registration number, and if it is leaked, you can get it reissued right away as it can be changed up to 5 times a year.
To issue, simply check ‘Issue My PIN’ at the bottom of the i-PIN user information input screen. However, please keep in mind that this is only available to the i-PIN issuer, and once the i-PIN is discarded, it cannot be used together.
My PIN issuance
Like the i-PIN, you can check the issued My PIN, and it can also be reissued or destroyed. MyPIN is similar to iPIN, but can be useful for verifying your identity more easily.
