This is a project where the government and local governments support companion animal medical expenses for the welfare of companion animals. Up to two animals can be supported per household, and a maximum of 500,000 won is paid per animal. It would be nice if all pet households received support, but support is limited to a select group of people. Since detailed support targets vary by region, we will explain each region below.
Supported pets are limited to dogs and cats. In the case of dogs, they must be registered in the animal registration system to receive support for medical expenses.
If your dog is not registered as an animal, you can register it directly below.

It was first implemented in Seoul and is being implemented in 22 different regions, including Gyeonggi-do, Gwangju, and Busan. As the number of households with pets is increasing, we expect that the areas and support funds for support policies will be expanded in the future.
+ Prescriptions for simple beauty or nutritional supplements are not supported, and a 5,000 won consultation fee is charged to prevent overtreatment.
To apply, please visit the local community center in each region. Since the scope and content of support are different for each local government, please check the basic information below and if you have any further questions, please visit or call the community center.

For essential treatment, you only need to pay a one-time consultation fee of 5,000 won. If the cost of elective treatment exceeds 200,000 won, you may pay only the excess amount.

From now on, most veterinary hospital treatment items will be exempt from 10% VAT. In the past, VAT exemption benefits existed only for some items, such as vaccinations and neutering surgeries. Now, you can receive VAT exemption for most treatments, including examinations, hospitalization, dental treatment, and surgical operations.
This benefit is not only for low-income or second-income households, but also applies to all households with pets. Benefits and support for pets are gradually increasing. We look forward to providing more beneficial support in the future.
