순정만화“Romance Manhwa” is a 2008 South Korean romance film, adapted from the webtoon of the same name by author Kang Full. Directed by Ryu Jang-ha, Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Yeon-hee, Chae Jeong-an, and Kang-in appeared as the main characters Yeon-woo, Soo-young, Ha-kyung, and Sook.
Yeonwoo, a 30-year-old single man who works as an employee at a local office, runs into Suyeong, an 18-year-old high school student who lives in the same apartment building. The two met a few times and became familiar with each other, but their affection blossomed after Sooyoung borrowed his tie. Sook, a public service agent who works at her local office like Yeon-woo, falls in love with Ha-kyung, who was taking pictures of her at her subway station, and ends up chasing her, and Ha-kyung doesn’t push him away when she aggressively clings to him.
Ha-kyung had a past where she broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Gyu-cheol. Ha-kyung, who was following Gyu-cheol’s traces, meets Sook and sells her film camera to Yeon-woo at the local flea market. Yeonwoo, who received the camera, hears that Suyeong likes film cameras and gives Suyeong the camera as a gift. Couple Yeonwoo-Sooyoung and Ha-kyung-Sook go on a date to the movie theater on the same day, and the four meet in one place.
A crisis comes to the two couples. There are rumors that Yeon-woo is dating a minor, and Soo-yeong’s mother, knowing that her daughter is dating an adult, opposes their relationship. Not only was there a huge age difference, but especially the fact that Yeon-woo grew up as an orphan made him think that Su-young, who grew up without a father, was not suitable for him. Eventually, Yeonwoo tries to stay away from Suyeong, and Suyeong becomes disappointed in Yeonwoo and his mother. Ha-kyung refuses to date Sook, citing her past with Gyu-cheol, and Sook is discharged from the military heartbroken.
However, the two couples cannot forget their affection for each other and approach each other again. After being discharged from the military, Sook dressed up neatly and reappeared at the subway station where they first met, and Ha-kyung accepts Sook. Yeon-woo confesses her affection for Su-yeong by taking a picture of her when she comes to make a resident registration card.
Duna gave the film a 3-star rating, saying that it was a decent movie that took advantage of everyday details even though it seemed like a ready-made film.[1]
