▲ Recently used paths are automatically displayed in the Shortcuts section of File Explorer to help you access them easily. I recently changed my drive path and lost access to most of my folders.
In this case, you can delete them individually or all at once. Try using the post method. And for security reasons, we’ll also tell you how to pin a specific folder that you don’t want to see or use frequently.
Delete individual file explorer favorites list
▲ If you want to delete the list one by one, click the right mouse button on the item to launch the pop-up menu and click the [Remove from Favorites] button.
However, as the existing lists continue to come up, it takes quite a while to delete them all one by one. If you want to delete them all at once, you can use the following method.
Delete all favorites list
▲ Click [Options] in the pop-up menu that appears when you right-click on [Shortcut] to open the Folder Options dialog box.
▲ If you click the [Clear] button included in the Privacy section, all folders that have been created in shortcuts will be deleted at once.
Pin to shortcut list
▲ If you want to pin as a favorite, such as [Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Pictures], which are displayed by default in shortcuts, right-click on the desired folder and click the [Pin to Favorites] menu.
Disable Favorites feature
▲ If you check [Shortcuts] in File Explorer, all folders and files you have recently opened are displayed. There is also a way to disable this feature.
▲ In the Folder Options dialog box, change Open File Explorer to [This PC], uncheck all privacy items, and click the [OK] button.
▲ From now on, the list of recently accessed folders and files will not be created in the shortcut item, and when you run File Explorer, My PC will be set to be visible from the beginning as above.
If you scroll up, you can use the default desktop, downloads, documents, pictures, and folders that you pinned as favorites. Use the method described in the post to freely set and use your favorite items.
