KakaoTalk group chat room has been introduced with the ability to leave the room without other members knowing. However, there are some people who are not sure how to use the newly introduced features. The first step is to check if the KakaoTalk application (app) is the latest version.
On the 10th, Kakao announced that it had introduced a function to leave the chat room quietly. The ‘leave quietly’ function is part of Kakao’s ‘KakaoTalk Easy’ project this year, and is intended to reduce the stress or burden of conversation that users may experience while using KakaoTalk.
To use this feature, you must first update the KakaoTalk app to the latest version. You can check the version information of the app you are currently using by pressing the cog wheel at the top of the KakaoTalk screen to enter “All Settings” and then looking at “App Management” at the bottom. If it is not the most recent version, 10.2.0, you will need to update it.
After the update is complete, you will need to go into Settings again, tap “Labs,” and activate the “Use Labs” button. The laboratory is an option for users to test new features to be installed in KakaoTalk in advance. It was created to check the user’s reaction in real time and check the stability of the function. Among the many features that are being prepared for release, users can select and use only some that they want to use.
If you activate ‘Leave Chat Room Quietly’ while using the lab, you can use this function in a chat room with 3 or more people participating. Then, you can leave without notifying other participants in the chat room.
Regarding the KakaoTalk group chat room silently exiting function, users responded that it was “light.” One user commented, “This is a very useful feature. It should have been made from scratch,” he said. Another user also said, “It has become easier to organize group chat rooms that are difficult to leave.”
