Frequently Asked Questions
Please tell me how to apply for and cancel automatic electricity bill transfer.
The “automatic payment system” is a convenient system where electricity bills are automatically paid continuously with a single application to the financial institution (bank, post office, Saemaul Geumgo, etc.) with which the customer is transacting.
(1) Automatic payment application and cancellation (suspension)
– Apply online (KEPCO ON (excluding Smart KEPCO, mobile page)) or (search for “automatic transfer” in job search)
– The depositor can call the KEPCO Customer Center (123 without area code) or
– You can apply in writing by visiting the nearest KEPCO branch.
– You can also apply by visiting your bank in person (bring your electricity bill receipt, bankbook, and seal).
– If you are moving, you can call the KEPCO Customer Center (dial 123 without area code) to request to stop automatic payment at the old location and to resume the transfer at the new location.
※ You can apply for automatic transfer even if the name on the bill and the account holder are different.
※ When applying for change or cancellation of automatic transfer: If you apply 6 business days before the due date, it will be processed in the month of application. In other cases, it will be processed from the month following application.
(2) Automatic payment start date
If you apply for automatic transfer, the automatic transfer will be processed only after it goes through the final computer confirmation process of the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings & Clearings Institute. Therefore, automatic transfer is usually processed normally only after about 20 days from the date of application. The automatic payment start date will be notified by postcard at a later date, so if you receive a bill before then, you can pay your electricity bill as before.
※ Additional withdrawal system
– Electricity bills that have not been withdrawn due to insufficient deposit balance in the automatic transfer account will be additionally withdrawn once, approximately 10 days after the due date (can be excluded upon customer request).
– To change additional withdrawals, call KEPCO Customer Center [123 without area code (mobile phone: area code + 123)] or “Complaint List”
You can apply by searching for “additional withdrawal.”
– Additional withdrawal dates may vary depending on bank non-business days such as Saturdays and public holidays, so please check your invoice.
– If additional withdrawals are made, late payment fees are calculated based on the number of days until the additional withdrawal date.
Is there a way to register and manage my customer number at KEPCO ON?
For individual customers, you can add or delete customer numbers at My > Electricity Contract Management > Customer Number Registration.
Even if your electricity usage location changes due to a move, etc., you can receive useful information related to electricity bills by deleting your existing customer number through customer number management and adding the customer number of the new location without the need to cancel your membership.
However, when adding a customer number, you must enter the customer number’s contractor information (actually registered information such as resident registration number, business registration number, corporate number, etc.). If the name change is necessary because the owner is a previous user, go to KEPCO ON>My>Electricity. You can process it at User Agreement Management>Customer Number Registration or use it after changing your name.
