In order to convert Shinsegae Gift Certificates into cash, you must first charge them with SSG Pay Money. In order to charge the gift certificate with SSG Pay money, you must first check if there is a hologram sticker on the front of the gift certificate.
Gift certificates can be charged directly from the SSG Pay app only if there is a hologram on the front or back as shown below, and gift certificates without holograms can be charged with SSG Pay money by visiting Shinsegae Department Store or E-Mart customer service center. 1. If you scratch the hologram on the front (or back) of the gift certificate with a coin, you can check the 6-digit PIN number as shown below.
2. Launch the SSGPAY app. There is a part called SSG MONEY on the screen. Touch it once.
3. Touch the Convert icon in SSG Money.
4. There are two ways to top up SSG money: through a bank account and through a Shinsegae gift certificate. Touch Shinsegae Gift Certificate.
Shinsegae Gift Certificates can only be converted up to KRW 1 million per month, and the combined limit of charging and conversion is KRW 2 million per month. The basic holding limit is 500,000 won, and if you register a bank account, the holding limit will automatically increase to 2 million won.
5. The camera turns on. Point a camera at the barcode on the back of the Shinsegae Gift Certificate, and the voucher number is automatically entered.
6. Peel off the hologram and enter the PIN number.
7. SSG money recharge with Shinsegae Gift Certificate is complete.
After charging SSG Pay Money with Shinsegae Gift Certificates, you can transfer the SSG Pay Money to cash again. A fee will be charged here. Details of this fee will be explained further below.
1. Select SSG MONEY in the SSG Pay app. You can see the 50,000 won that was charged earlier.
2. Touch My Money here.
3. The amount of SSG money I currently have appears. Only the charged amount can be withdrawn. (Accumulated amount cannot be withdrawn)
4. There is a button to withdraw charging money on the screen. Touch the corresponding button.
5. I see the withdrawal amount. This withdrawal amount is the amount minus the charging money – commission. The fee is 5%, so if you convert and charge Shinsegae gift certificates of KRW 50,000, when you withdraw the amount again, you will be able to withdraw KRW 47,500 to your account after deducting KRW 2,500, 5% of KRW 50,000 as a fee.
6. Enter the account number to convert Shinsegae Gift Certificate into cash and receive it in cash.
7. Click the Complete button to complete cash withdrawal of the Shinsegae gift certificate.
8. Withdrawal request cannot be canceled and a fee will be charged even in case of cancellation.
9. Touch the OK button to complete the withdrawal. If you apply for withdrawal by converting Shinsegae gift certificate into cash, it will be deposited into the account you applied for within 1 hour.
