If you are looking for a job, you must know about the ‘National Employment Support System’
November 03, 2022
It is a system that provides comprehensive services necessary for employment to those seeking employment, and provides income support for livelihood to low-income job seekers. This is a system provided by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Employment Information Service. If you meet the eligibility requirements, the Employment Welfare Plus Center provides related support services and costs.
Based on the Act on Strengthening Income Support for Low-Income Classes, we provide up to 3 million won (500,000 won per month for 6 months) to low-income job seekers and Type I participants. Payments are made only to participants who faithfully performed job search activities through employment support services provided by the employment center. The employment support system provides job training and work experience programs necessary for employment, and provides employment support services tailored to individuals who are concerned about why they are unable to find a job. In addition, we check whether you are working as planned so that you can conduct more specific job search activities.
Depending on the participant’s income and assets, they are classified into Type I and Type II. Type I receives job search promotion allowances and employment support services. Those eligible are those with household median income of 60% or less, assets of 400 million won or less (500 million won for young people aged 18 to 34), and those with more than 100 days or 800 hours of employment experience within the past two years.
Type II is for households that fall in the middle when dividing all households in order of income. This type does not receive job search promotion allowances, but is provided with employment activity expenses (up to 6 months, up to 284,000 won per month) and employment support services. Those who do not fall into Type I, such as specific classes, young people, middle-aged people, etc., are eligible for support.
(1) Log in to Worknet and apply for a job! (If you have trouble finding it, enter ‘job application’ in the search box)
(2) Submit an employment support application! (Visit the employment center in person or use the National Employment Support System website)
After submitting your application, you will receive a decision and notification of your eligibility within one month. After that, you just need to establish an employment activity plan. 😇
It’s over! It’s so easy, right? We hope that you will be able to go through the job search process wisely, and we will come back with content that will be helpful to you in the future after completing the boot camp.
