National Health Insurance Refunds
The criterion for being selected for the refund of the National Health Insurance is when the amount exceeds the maximum amount of out-of-pocket expenses. The inquiry period is calculated from the total amount of health insurance contributions from January 1st to December 31st of each year, and the standard for annual average insurance premiums is as follows.
1st quartile: KRW 1.25 million hospitalized for more than 120 days in a nursing hospital, KRW 810,000 in other cases
2-3 quartile: KRW 1.57 million hospitalized for more than 120 days in a nursing hospital, KRW 1.01 million in other cases
4-5 quartiles: KRW 2.11 million hospitalized for more than 120 days in a nursing hospital, KRW 1.52 million in other cases
6th-7th quarter: 2.8 million won
8th quartile: 3.5 million won
9th quartile: 4.3 million won
10th quartile: 5.8 million won

In most cases, a text notification is sent to the eligible person to inquire about refunds from the National Health Insurance, but since you can directly inquire whether or not you are eligible, you can inquire on the National Health Insurance homepage.
The first category of civil complaints at the top of the National Health Insurance homepage is here – click Personal Complaints.
In the Personal Complaints menu on the left, click the 8th Refund Inquiry Request.
Select one of the public certificate, simple certificate, and member login to proceed with the authentication login.
You can apply for all * refunds, and the type and amount of refunds from National Health Insurance that can be refunded are displayed at the bottom.
The types of refunds for national health insurance include refunds for co-payments, amounts exceeding the maximum amount of co-payments, refunds for insurance premiums, refunds for other collections, refunds for premiums paid by the Corporation for delinquency of insurance premiums, and subsidy for partial payment of drug costs.
Select the insurance premium to be refunded on the right side of the table, check the amount at the bottom, and click the Apply button.
Check to agree to the consent to the collection and use of personal information and unique identification information.
In the applicant information, enter your mobile phone number, text message reception, and email, enter your refund account information as your account number, and click the Apply button.
You can check the refund you have applied for in the refund application history search on the left.
Please note that application by an agent for self-pay refund cannot be applied in the same way as other refunds.
If you usually use the hospital frequently or have paid a lot of money for treatment at a large hospital, you can inquire and apply for the hidden national health insurance refund if you inquire at least once. You can get a refund of as little as tens of thousands of won, but as many as several million won, so please check it out.
