With the start of the heat wave and the rainy season, people cannot endure the hot and humid weather and start using air conditioners and various drying and dehumidifying products. However, with the rise in electricity rates this year, concerns about an ‘electricity rate bomb’ in the summer are also growing. Online, ‘honey tips’ to save even a single penny on electricity bills are shared.
KEPCO promotes the energy cashback system, which has been in effect since last year, and guides ways to reduce electricity bills and electricity consumption. Since the energy cashback application started on the 7th of this month, there are still many applicants, so access to the site is delayed.

What is energy cashback? It is a system that returns the amount saved in cash to households that have relatively reduced electricity consumption.

Energy cashback applicants will receive a deduction of up to 100 won per 1 kWh if they save more than 20% of their electricity bill. It was found that an average of about 14,000 won was returned.
For energy cashback, from the 7th of this month to the 31st of August, applicants can apply cashback from the amount used in July this year, and can apply through PC and mobile. Also, starting in July, it is possible to apply in person at a nearby KEPCO office in addition to online.
