Places to visit in Pohang

Homigot

Homigot is a key tourist attraction in Pohang. The sunrise is especially famous, and there are hands of mutual prosperity, one on land and one on the sea.

Seonbau-gil

Seonbau Road is the second course of the Homi Peninsula Coastal Trail. This is the most recommended coastal trail. Encountering various landscapes while walking is a unique experience.

Guryongpo Japanese House Street

It is famous as a filming location for the drama ‘When the Camellia Blooms’. It was a place where many Japanese people settled and lived after the Japan-North Korea Trade Journey during the Japanese colonial period. Afterwards, the remaining Japanese houses and shops were renovated and created as a cultural street.

Janggi-eupseong Fortress

Janggi-eupseong Fortress, located in Janggi-myeon, Pohang, was initially an earthen fortress built during the Goryeo Dynasty, but was later rebuilt into a stone fortress during the Joseon Dynasty and used as a military base. It has oval-shaped walls, three gates, Ongseong, and Chiseong, and wells and ponds are preserved within the fortress.

If you climb up to Janggi-eupseong Fortress, you can see the entire village at a glance and even see the East Sea in the distance. Here, you can experience history and culture, walk along the castle road, and enjoy the natural scenery.

Igari Anchor Observatory

Igari Anchor Observatory is made in the shape of an anchor and stands on the sea, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful seascape at a glance. This place is especially famous for its cave photo zone. If you go down the stairs next to the entrance to the observatory, you can find a rock cave.

Marine Skywalk

It has an average height of 7 meters and a total length of 473 meters, and the floor is made of special glass, so you can feel as if you are walking on waves. There is a 1.2-meter seawater pool at the midpoint of the Marine Skywalk, which can be used as a swimming pool, and the end is connected to the coastal promenade.

It is a sea pavilion built on the sea at the end of a bridge connected to the land, and you can enjoy beautiful coastal scenery and sea views. After sunset, the lights come on, creating a beautiful night view harmonized with the night sea.
